First Tip: Hydration is Key

Let’s kick off with a fundamental yet often overlooked tip—hydration. Our skin needs adequate moisture to function correctly and look its best. Dehydrated skin can appear dull, flaky, and more prone to wrinkles. Here are a few simple ways to keep your skin hydrated, especially as we enter into the winter months:

  • Drink Plenty of Water: Aim for at least 8 glasses a day. Hydration starts from within, and drinking water not only helps maintain your skin’s elasticity and suppleness but you will feel better too.

  • Choose the Right Moisturizer: Select a moisturizer that suits your skin type. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides, which help retain moisture. I’ll go into some of my favourite products in the next post!

  • Avoid Hot Showers: Hot water can strip your skin of its natural oils. Opt for lukewarm showers and apply moisturizer immediately afterward to lock in moisture.
